Volunteers

We are so excited and appreciative because you are interested in volunteering at Benedict. To volunteer, you will either need to be Tier 1 or Tier 2 cleared. The Tier 1 process is more rigorous and requires live scan fingerprinting at your expense. Please use this CUSD Volunteer Info LINK to learn more and/or apply. There are also links to each process below.

Tier I Volunteer Registration

Tier 2 Volunteer Registration

WatchD.O.G.S. (Defenders of Great Students)
We are implementing some new changes to the Watch DOGS program.

PE helpers, Blacktop Crew, and Perimeter Patrol now fall under the Watch DOGS program. If you would like to volunteer in any of these areas, please email Holly Wooley at hlwoolley@capousd.org in order to do so.

WatchDOGS must be CUSD Tier 1 clear to volunteer. The primary function of WatchDOGS at Benedict is to oversee recess games, teach sportsmanship and positive social interactions, and keep an eye on the school perimeter. To sign up for a shift, email Holly Wooley at hlwoolley@capousd.org (once you are Tier 1 cleared).

PE Helpers must be CUSD Tier 2 clear to volunteer. PE Helpers work directly with Bobcats under the supervision of the PE Teacher and Para-Educators, aiding in the delivery of PE instruction. PE Helpers may volunteer for as many, or few, hours as they have available. PE instructions occurs by grade level on Mondays and Thursdays. To sign up for a shift, email Holly Woolley at hlwoolley@capousd.org to coordinate.

Blacktop Crew must be CUSD Tier 2 clear to volunteer. Blacktop Team meets 15 minutes prior to Friday Blacktop Assemblies to post up at an assigned place on (or slightly off) campus. Before, during, and immediately following Blacktop Assemblies, the team monitors the campus and perimeter for any potential threats. In the event of suspicious activity, the Blacktop Team will call the office for support. In the event clear and present danger is observed, the Blacktop Team will coordinate with each other to contact the Office and call 911 simultaneously. To sign up for a shift, email Holly Wooley at hlwoolley@capousd.org to coordinate.

Perimeter Patrol volunteers must be CUSD Tier 2 clear to volunteer. Perimeter Patrol is a volunteer crew functioning on the back, front, and/or side perimeter of the school. The function of the team is to keep an eye out for any suspicious activity. In the event of suspicious activity, Perimeter Patrol will call the office for support. In the event clear and present danger is observed, Perimeter Patrol will coordinate with each other to contact the Office and call 911 simultaneously. To sign up for a shift, email Holly Wooley at hlwoolley@capousd.org to coordinate.
