Principal's Page

My name is Mike Brandt, I am the Principal of Truman Benedict Elementary School. I am excited to have this opportunity to offer a brief overview of our school. TBES is a TK-5 learning community where school and home families work together to support our kids in the process of growing into happy, healthy, well-adjusted adults.

Working as Professional Learning Communities, or PLCs, our grade level teacher teams, and vertical focus groups coordinate to offer great first instruction and a multi-tiered system of supports, such as targeted academic intervention and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports). We are blessed with a strong and coordinated school community that includes a proactive PTA, as well as a generous foundation (FREF), who’s hard working and efforts enhance our academic programs, especially in the study of science and engineering.

Our Mission Poster (below) offers insight into our priorities for kids. The word cloud represents the traits teachers see in our students and most want to foster. To the left is our "Mission Motto: "Inspiring a capable, confident, community of thinkers," which is our goal.
