Principal’s Message

Welcome to Truman Benedict Elementary School, a place that reflects the heart of our San Clemente community. We are proud to be a school where strong relationships, belonging, and community connection are central to everything we do. Whether your family is new to the area or has long-standing ties to our school, we want you to feel welcomed, valued, and connected.
 
As principal, it is especially meaningful to serve families I once taught as students. This full-circle experience reflects the strength of Truman Benedict and reminds us of the lasting impact schools can have on students, families, and our community.
 
We are committed to strong academics, high expectations, and a supportive environment where every student is known and valued. During the 2026–27 school year, our grade-level teacher teams will continue working closely together to design and deliver GFI, or Great First Instruction. This means teachers will plan together to provide clear, meaningful learning from the start, use student work to identify needs, and provide timely support or enrichment.
Our goal is for every student to grow as a confident, capable learner while receiving the support needed to succeed. Partnership with families is essential to that work. When schools and families share a common purpose, students benefit in meaningful and lasting ways.
 
Truman Benedict is more than a school. It is a community built on relationships, tradition, and a shared commitment to helping every student succeed. I am proud to serve as your principal and grateful to be part of this connected and supportive community.
